Why new project? The first Russian phillumeny site "The Virtual Matchbox Labels Museum" emerged in 1998. At the time only a handful of sites, dedicated to the hobby existed in the Internet - most known among them were the sites of Nail Abbott (Australia), Hans Everink (The Netherlands),Since that a lot of interesting resources opened. But we, phillumenists, still seem to be quite a rare fish in the Internet ocean. Some years back someone gave the idea - to unite all phillumeny resources under one roof. After some time we are now trying to implement that idea. PHILLUMENY.NET is intended to become a joint phillumeny resource for issues of the common interest and a portal to other phillumeny sites (affiliated or not). All phillumeny sites owners and other phillumenists are welcome to participate! What is realized and what is planned?Well, we are just starting, so only a few pages of this portal are now readyAs to our "would be" plans:
How to join?Well, just write to Stanislav Dmitriev. If he knows your site, the answer will be prompt, if not, it'll take some time to have a closer look. What technologies are available?SSI, PHP, MySQL (limited number of databases, but it seems one for a subdomain, if any, will be enough). We were promised nearly unlimited space, yet all images MUST be WEB-optimized.Which languages are allowed?Any, but having at list an intro in English is desirable.Who is the patron?http://www.internethost.ru |
