Overview of some technologies used in this site, their advantages and known disadvantages and of some other questions.WinLIKEThe main site is based on WinLIKE technology, developed by CEITON technologies GmbH.The main advantage of it is that it allows to create windowed (or non-windowed) application panels inside the open window of you browser. For example, now you see not one, but four pages, integrated in one common view. You can load a content to these windows either independently of each other, or evoke change of content in one window, by pressing the link in another one. Some disadvantages come from the browsers incompatibility with the W3W demands and some technology limitations in them. Now only Internet Explorer and Gecko-based (Mozilla, Netscape, Firefox) browsers fully support DOM specifications necessary for this engine (alas, contrary to the developers statements, Opera is still NOT fully DOM-compatible). The second limitation comes from the allowed length of the site call (i.e. http://........). Full calls to the site previous configuration are too long for browsers, that is why you can see the arrows above this window - please use them to move back and forth while on this site. PROMT automatic translationAs this site is only bilingual, the translation to other languages is provided by the PROMT company. We use free translation service, hence some limitations.The main window may be automatically translated into German, French or Spanish. Text fragments may be additionally translated to/from Italian and Portuguese. Now about limitations: LanguagesThe site was created in Russia and by Russians, so naturally it has native Russian pages for (almost) all content. Yet, if you have problems with English or Russian, you may post your comment in one of the languages supported by the automatic translation (German, French, Spanish, Italian or Portuguese)
