Obviously, IXL is just a tool and its usefulness varies with the user. For teachers (and schools) who are committed to using it to help students, it can be very effective. There is no advertising and there are a ton of resources to go along with implementation of any kind. Try it.

Decent Interactive App For Students

Overall, IXL is not a bad app. I personally used this app when I was a middle school student. I liked that this app was very interactive and it had game like rewards. If a person got a set of question correct then they would move up to the next level.

Lack of Personalization: Another issue with IXL is its one-size-fits-all approach. It does not consider individual student needs or different learning styles. As a result, learners who require additional support or those who excel in certain areas may feel frustrated or unchallenged respectively.

Can students do IXL at home? ›

Yes! IXL subscriptions offer students and teachers unlimited access from any computer connected to the Internet. There is even a free app; IXL can go anywhere you go!

There may be several reasons for that: An outage that hasn't been communicated yet via the IXL status page. Some local issues with a small group of accounts on the service side. Technical issues on your side, or problems with your software or ISP.

If you are having difficulty logging in, it could be because of your username or password. First, double-check that you are using the correct sign-in information. You will receive an email with instructions on how to reset your password. If you don't see the email in your inbox, be sure to check your spam folder.

If you have an existing IXL account, just sign in to your account from the app and begin practicing on your device. Without an account, you can practice ten free questions in each subject per day. If you'd like to have unlimited access, purchase a subscription at www.ixl.com/membership.

When students first use the Diagnostic, we recommend they aim to diagnose until their complete diagnostic data is revealed—for most students, this will be around 45 minutes per subject.
