  • Malone, Mary L. age 83, longtime Stewartville, MN resident. Funeral will be at 9:30 AM on Thursday (6/19/08) at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Stewartville with Rev. Gregory Havel officiating. Burial will follow in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN at 2:30 PM. Mrs. Malone died Monday (6/16/08) of natural causes at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN where she had been a patient since Friday of last week. Mary Louise Donney was born Mary 23, 1925 in Waverly, MN, a buttermaker's daughter. She grew up in Waverly, attended Waverly schools and graduated from Waverly H.S. in 1942. She then was employed at Mid-Continent Airlines in Tulsa, OK during WWII. She was married on March 2, 1946 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waverly to LeRoy "Red" Malone. Following their marriage the couple lived in Waverly, Brooten, MN and Minneapolis. They moved to Stewartville in 1950 where they owned and operated Malone Nursing Home and Malone Ambulance Service. In 1960 Mr. Malone began operating a state auto license bureau in Rochester until his death on June 28, 1964. Mrs. Malone took over the operation of the license bureau and moved it to the Crossroads Shopping Center in Rochester where she operated the bureau until her retirement in 1999. She was a longtime member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, serving on various boards and as a trustee and was very active in it's C.C.W. She was a past active member of the D.F.L. Party in Olmsted County and was the 1st female member of the...
