Pawn Stars is a reality TV series on the History and A&E networks that has been airing since 2009. It’s based on a now-famous local pawn shop called Gold and Silver Pawn in Las Vegas. Over the years, the cast of the show has become fan favorites.

Pawn Stars is one of the few filming sets that you can actually visit in Las Vegas where you can see all sorts of cool things and is one of the most popular non-gaming attractions. Here’s what you need to know before you go!

Pawn Stars Cast

The Pawn Stars cast is what really makes the show so entertaining. It follows four main people- “Old Man,” “Chumlee,” “Rick Harrison,” and “Corey Harrison”- with regular appearances by antique and buying experts like Rebecca Romney. Let’s meet the cast!

“Old Man”: Lovingly called “Old Man,” Richard Harrison is the founder of the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop. He opened it with his son, Rick Harrison, after moving to Las Vegas in the mid-1980s. He passed away in June 2018 but was the patriarch of the show, famous for being a straight shooter.

“Chumlee”: Austin Russell, better known as “Chumlee”, is known for being truthful and loyal on the show. He is a long-time friend of Corey’s dating back to elementary school, so he quite literally grew up around the pawnshop.

Rick Harrison: Rick Harrison is Old Man’s son, and co-owned the shop until his father’s death in 2018. He is now the sole owner of the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop. He was also the concept creator of the show.

Corey Harrison: Corey Harrison, known as “Big Hoss,” is Rick Harrison’s son who became a part of the family business. He no longer lives up to his nickname after losing over 100 pounds but still has the same do-good personality that fans of the show love.

Rebecca Romney: Rebecca Romney is one of the regular experts on the show. She is a rare books expert who was one of the only regular women experts to make a regular appearance. Rebecca is well qualified as she speaks three languages and reads in six. Unfortunately, she hasn’t been on the show in recent years due to her move to the East Coast.

To visit the Pawn Stars shop for free, you simply have to show up during their store hours! However, keep in mind that there are usually long lines. Nevada residents get priority in the store, so if you know someone in Las Vegas, it might be worth asking them to tag along.

Once you’re in the shop, you can feel free to look around and see some of the rare objects they’ve collected over the years and also see different areas that you recognize from TV. Photography is allowed, though due to some Nevada state laws, you must refrain from taking pictures directly towards the pawn counter. Video is not allowed in the store.

Though many of the visitors to Gold & Silver Pawn Shop are looking to meet Rick, Chumlee, and Corey, just showing up isn’t a guarantee to meet or see them. Rick, Chumlee, and Corey do not regularly work at the Pawn Stars store; however, they will visit fans on the shop floor. Their visits are not usually announced, so you’ll just have to get lucky.

If you want to put luck more on your side, check out their other businesses where they are often seen regularly. Rick and Chumlee are usually at the Pawn Plaza during the week. Rick bartends at his bar, Rick’s Rollin Smoke BBQ and Tavern, on Friday and Saturday night. Chumlee is often at his candy store, Chums Candy, Wednesday through Sunday in the afternoons.

VIP Experience Tour

Guests also get to see the inner workings of the shop with commentary on how the filming goes.

Though the tour is built around the Pawn Stars, the tour also takes you to the places behind “Welder Up,” “Counting Cars,” and Pawn Star’s expert, Jeremy’s store, called “Ultimate Sports and Memorabilia,” which is a nice bonus!
